Mousquetaires Group Signs Deal For Shelf-Planning Technology

The Mousquetaires Group, which owns retail chain Intermarché, has signed a deal to use Perfect Shelf, an IT system developed by Dassault Systèmes that creates virtual 3D images of shelf spaces with various possible product assortments, in order to maximise sales and quicken the re-stocking process, LSA-Conso.fr reports.

The technology, marketed by Kalista Solutions, will allow Mousquetaires Group to tailor its on-shelf arrangements, placing certain products in more prominent positions in accordance with regional consumer shopping habits.

General Mills France has already used the technology to market Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

"With Perfect Shelf, we will be able to return to more shelves, and make their arrangements more accurate," said Mark Levasseur of Intermarché’s marketing department.

"We have already noted a 15 per cent reduction in the time it takes to plan ranging shelves with products, and the actual delivery of this."
