Denmark’s Netto Appoints Michael Loeve As New International Director

Dansk Supermarket, which operates the Netto banner, has appointed former chief executive of B&Q UK & Ireland, Michael Loeve, as the new director of Netto International.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the chain’s operations in Denmark, Germany, Poland and Sweden, encompassing some 1,300 stores.

Loeve is no stranger to the grocery trade, having previously held multiple roles with Coop Denmark, including COO, CEO of its SuperBrugsen business, and supply chain director. He is also a former COO of Copenhagen Airports. He joined B&Q, which is part of the Kingfisher Group, in September 2015.

Track Record

“Michael's track record speaks for itself,” commented Dansk Supermarket chief executive Per Bank. “With the experience he has gained in recent years in the UK, I have no doubt that he is the right person to lead our ambitions for Netto.”

Bank added that Netto will be looking to expand its operations in Sweden and Poland in the coming years, as well as seek to maintain a strong regional position in Germany.
