Dr. Oetker Introduces Training Concept With Digital Focus

Pizza and baking products manufacturer Dr. Oetker has introduced the #azubidigital initiative, which is aimed at providing trainees with a digital education. The new concept will be initially introduced in Bielefeld, Germany.

The company announced that as part of the programme, trainees will learn to work together in a team to develop creative ideas with a digital focus, getting the chance to prepare themselves for the job market’s increasing demands and to actively shape its digital transformation.

Digital Future

To give its trainees the opportunity to pursue own startup ideas and think entrepreneurially, Dr. Oetker is cooperating with garage33, an initiative that offers a ‘free space for founders and entrepreneurs’, founded by the city of Paderborn.

New concepts will be developed in a team and can then be presented to Dr. Oetker’s management. In addition, #azubidigital will include a digital component into the trainee’s final projects.

“Borders are becoming blurred, data is becoming more and more complex - it's a challenge for the society and for businesses,” said Doris Abeln, board member of Dr. Oetker Germany. “Dr. Oetker seeks to prepare its trainees for the digital future and the tasks that come with it”.

Setting New Standards

The new initiative is not only directed towards future trainees but also those who already started a training or dual curriculum in international business and business informatics. Dr. Oetker noted that all digital projects will take the trainees’ personal experience and interests into account.

“Our existing and future trainees will receive a training that comprehensively prepares them for the digital future,” Doris Abeln added.
