Dixy Stores In Moscow Join Social Discount Programme
Russian retailer Dixy has announced that it has extended its participation in a social discount programme to include citizens of Moscow.
Dixy stores in the Moscow region already offered a 5% discount on all product categories - excluding special offers, alcohol and tobacco - to citizens, presenting their Social Card.
Social Cards entitle people in need of financial support, such as pensioners, veterans, families with many children and people with disabilities, to social benefits, health insurance, discounts on public transport and retail discounts, at participating stores.
“Dixy stores are daily reducing prices for the products, which are most in demand. Yet our experience shows that the introduction of an additional social programme provides tangible support to elderly people and families finding themselves in difficult circumstances,” said Andrey Ryzhak, operations director of Dixy Group.
The Dixy Group is one of Russia’s leading retailers. It currently operates 2,646 convenience stores, 116 Victoria stores and 40 hypermarkets, nationwide. Its estimated revenue for 2016 was RUR 311 billion.
The Moscow social-discount pilot was launched on 13 March and will run until 14 May. The discounts are available between 8:00am and 1:00pm.
