Coca-Cola HBC Appoints New General Manager Of Irish Division

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) has appointed Miles Karemacher as the new general manager of its operations in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

He will be responsible for driving growth in the company and leading a workforce comprising around 760 people across the island of Ireland, the bottling company said in a statement.

Karemacher will also be responsible for the business’s premium spirits portfolio, which recently entered into distribution partnerships for the Republic of Ireland with The Campari Group, Edrington and Glendalough Distillery.

He will also focus on sustainable packaging to deliver targets set under the company’s World Without Waste strategy.

'Successful Initiatives'

Commenting on his new role, Karemacher, said, "With a vision to be the leading 24/7 beverage partner, the sustainability of our packaging is a priority and I’m committed to building on the successful initiatives undertaken to date.

"We continue to invest in more sustainable packaging and will be one of the first markets to introduce KeelClip packaging next year; eliminating 250 tonnes of shrink wrap plastic across the island of Ireland annually."

Karemacher will replace Matthieu Seguin, who will assume the role of general manager for Coca-Cola HBC’s Nigerian Bottling Company.

An Experienced Professional

Karemacher is an experienced professional, who most recently, served as the commercial excellence director of Coca‑Cola HBC Italy.

He was instrumental in delivering sustainable revenue growth and profit; expanding the portfolio and reshaping the price and pack strategy in line with changing consumer needs.

He was also responsible for completing the acquisition of Lurisia, a premium natural mineral water, and sparkling beverages business.

Before joining Coca‑Cola HBC, he held senior roles in a range of portfolios including strategy and revenue growth management at SAB Miller and Coca‑Cola Amatil.
