New Beverage Company Sets Up In Angola

SODIBA, a new beverage company worth €141 million, has set up in Angola, according to noticiasominuto.com.

The Sociedade de Distribuição de Bebidas de Angola will be located in the Bom Jesus Industrial Complex, 60 kilometres from the capital Luanda. The complex extends over 40 hectares and will have a production capacity of 144 million litres of beer per year, extending up to 200 million litres.

The factory is almost completed and will consist of two filling lines, one with a capacity of 50,000 bottles per hour and another line for filling cans of the same capacity.

From January 2017, the new company will start with the production and distribution of Portuguese beer Sagres. During the first half of 2017, the company will also launch Luandina beer, the first 100% Angolan beer.

SODIBA CEO José Carlos Beato told the Lusa news agency that the new production capacity will make Angola one of the leading global producers.

Although initially focusing on the production and distribution of beer, SODIBA will also produce bottled waters, soft drinks, pulps and concentrates, as well as spirits, among others.
