Sainsbury’s Extends Trial Of Reverse Vending Machine To Scotland

UK retailer Sainsbury's has introduced a reverse vending machine in its Braehead superstore in Glasgow.

The concept is already being tested in its stores in Lincoln and Hull.

It allows customers to return plastic bottles and drinks cans for recycling.

Plastic Consumption

The trial is one of the latest initiatives by Sainsbury’s to reduce its plastic consumption.

The machine accepts plastic bottles of any size up to 3 litres as well as aluminium drinks cans.
