Dutch Retailer Jumbo To Open 600th Store
Dutch retailer Jumbo is to open its 600th outlet next week, with the unveiling of a converted EMTÉ store in Vught, in the south of the country.
The 1,300 square metre store, located on Moleneindplein, will open on Wednesday 24 October, having closed on 6 October to undergo renovation.
The store will mark the occasion by presenting a bunch of flowers to the first 600 customers that pass through the doors, while those that sound more than €25 in-store will receive a complimentary apple pie.
Marking A Milestone
"The opening of our 600th store is something to be proud of," commented Jumbo CEO Frits van Eerd.
"I see this as the result of the work we do every day at Jumbo with all colleagues: always exceeding customer expectations. [...] Because of our growth, more and more people are able to get to know our unique formula, which combines the lowest price, the largest assortment and the best service."
The store boasts a comprehensive array of fresh food and food-to-go options, as well as self-scanning facilities, to make it easier for shoppers to compete their purchase.
