eCommerce Booming In Poland

Poland is one of the fastest developing European countries in terms of eCommerce. Poland has enjoyed almost 24 per cent growth compared to the European average of 16.1 per cent, according to recent research by The Centre for Retail Research.

According to web measurement company comScore, 18.2 million of Poland’s population of 38 million have access to the Internet. Poland has come to the attention of international players due to its 38 million potential customers and its position between Western and Eastern European markets. Carrefour Group has introduced the option for Polish consumers to buy products online and pick them up at drive-in locations.

“I am preparing for tough competition with the arrival of Amazon and Tesco.com in the Polish eCommerce market,” said Grzegorz Wojcik, CEO of Poland’s leading auction website, Allegro.pl. (14 Mar)
