ECOSAC: A Leader In Quality Agri-Products

ECOSAC is a company based in Piura, in the northwest of Peru that specialises in agricultural, aqua-cultural and agroindustrial products.

It belongs to the Costa del Sol group and has 11 hotels in Peru.

Presence In Trade Fairs

The company showcased at Expoalimentaria 2018, and promoted its entire range of peppers including jalapeños, cherry pepper, lagrima peppers, different bruschettas and pepper mixes.

ECOSAC will also participate in SIAL Paris trade fair in October of this year with the same range of products as well as artichokes, and a line of jams.

The Origin

ECOSAC was launched in the year 2000 as a shrimp production company, that relied on the innovative idea of shrimp farming in sweet water. It was achieved by drawing water from the Piura river to the Chapairá desert.

After the success of the project, the company decided to start growing piquillo peppers, thereby transforming the arid area into agricultural land.

Presently, ECOSAC is Peru's largest producer of piquillo peppers, with its biggest market in Spain. The company produces around 750 containers of the pepper every year.

The company then continued to expand into the desert and started planting bell peppers. In 2004, it started growing grapes in the area, which was unthinkable in Piura at that time.

Now, grapes are planted in more than 1,000 hectares of land, and the company exports around 1,200 containers a year.

The shipments are sent to Valencia and Rotterdam, and are then distributed to other parts of Europe. The company exports its products to 40 countries in Europe, Asia, and America.

The company's main market is in the US, where it exports around 33% of its products including shrimps, table grapes, red pepper, jalapeños, and piquillo peppers.
