ECR Community Shrinkage Group To Host Workshop On Self-Checkout

The ECR Community Shrinkage and On-Shelf Availability Group is to hold a one-day interactive workshop in London in February 2019, examining the losses associated with self-checkout technologies as well as ways in which the technology could be more effectively managed.

The Understanding and Controlling the Risk of Self-checkout Technologies workshop is hosted in association with NCR, and will take place at Goodenough College, London on 13 February.

It will utilise data from 13 major retail users of SCO technologies in Europe and the US, including analysis of over 140 million Scan and Go SCO transactions, 17 million audit checks, video analysis of €72 billion of Fixed SCO transactions, and interviews with 73 senior industry representatives.

Some of the topics to be addressed on the day will include 'The Rise of ‘Frictionless’ Shopping and Self-checkout: Understanding The Impact'; 'Developing a Framework for Managing Self-checkout in Retailing: The Role of People' and 'Developing a Framework for Managing Self-checkout in Retailing: The Role of Technologies'.

It is likely to be of interest to retail loss prevention practitioners, retail teams with responsibility for front end transformation, and those tasked with the management of SCO systems.
