Edeka Reopens Marktkauf Store In Osnabrück-Nahne

German retailer Edeka has reopened its Marktkauf store in Osnabrück-Nahne after a year-long renovation project.

Edeka Minden announced the refurbishment plan last August, with the intention of investing €12.5 million to modernise the store. The outlet officially re-opened its doors last month.

Store Features

The 6,200 square metre outlet, which was initially opened in 1971, has been completely modernised with new features and design elements.

Marktkauf Osnabrück-Nahne now features service counters for meat, cheese and fish, a salad bar, and a wide range of non-food areas, including beauty, fashion, toys, homewares, and electronics.

Interstore, which undertook the design, ‘elaborated a new store design and graphic concept from scratch. To achieve a better structuring of the large sales area and facilitate customer orientation, large ceiling elements made of bright wood and red tower elements were used as focus points, which are clearly visible from far away.

‘In the produce department, fixtures with high wooden frames and blackboards as well as the use of baskets and wooden boxes create the inviting atmosphere of a farmer’s market.’
