Edeka's discount division Netto Marken-Discount has begun preparations on an online non-food outlet in Germany and, according to local reports, Michael Kleiner has been assigned as its business development web manager.
Netto is thought to be working with Oxid-Esales, the developer that helped to launch Edeka Südwest’s online store under the Edeka24.de banner. Logistics and delivery are expected to be outsourced.
Netto previously held a non-food eCommerce operation seven years ago, which was then discontinued just a year later.
