Spanish operator El Corte Inglés has launched a new store concept, Perfumes y Cosméticos Gran Vía, in association with Sephora, part of the LVMH luxury group. El Corte Inglés will own 55 per cent of the new venture. The new store concept will open its first outlet in Madrid later this year.
The new store comes as part of an ever increasing diversification process for El Corte Inglés, which has worked with Sephora since 2005. Sephora operates 87 points of sale for cosmetics across Spain, 34 of which are located in El Corte Inglés outlets. The flagship store for Perfumes y Cosméticos Gran Vía will be located on Madrid's iconic Gran Via shopping street.
El Corte Inglés also recently diversified its gourmet food operation, launching a new concept, Gourmet Experience, at its Goya store in Madrid. (1 Oct)© 2010 - ESM: European Supermarket Magazine
