El Corte Inglés Partners With Spain's Football League

Spanish retailer El Corte Inglés has announced a new sponsorship agreement with the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (LFP), Spain's professional football league.

Under the new agreement, El Corte Inglés will be one of the top sponsors of LaLiga, encompassing the top football divisions in the country, for three more years.

Strong Presence

The agreement will allow El Corte Inglès to be featured as a sponsor during matches in the top division, LaLiga Santander, as well as in LaLiga 1|2|3 matches, in the second tier of Spanish football. This means that El Corte Inglés will be featured in more than 2,000 matches in Spain over the course of the three next seasons.

The retailer will also be the exclusive partner of the LFP for the sale of official league merchandise.

In addition, the travel agency of El Corte Inglés will be the exclusive travel partner for of La Liga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 for the next three seasons.

El Corte Inglés' Social Commitment 

Commenting on the agreement, Jesus Nuño de la Rosa, president of El Corte Inglés, said that "El Corte Inglés has been characterised from its beginnings by its commitment to society, which is reflected in the various social actions in which it participates and, in particular, by its support for both popular and elite sports."

Elsewhere, Javier Tebas, president of the LFP said, "We thank El Corte Inglés for the trust placed in LaLiga for the next three seasons in its commitment to professional football. This new agreement will allow LaLiga to be closer to its clubs and its fans through new experiential spaces in centres throughout Spain, among other projects."

The 'other projects' include a commitment from El Corte Inglés to support LaLiga Genuine, an initiative of the LFP that aims to introduce children with learning disabilities to the values of fair play and competition embedded within football.
