Emsur Acquires 'Significant Stake' In Russia's Eximpack

Emsur, part of Spanish-based Grupo Lantero, has become the majority owner of Russian packaging firm Eximpack, two years on from the acquisition of a partial stake in the business.

The move enhances Emsur's capabilities in the shrink sleeve market, particularly in Eastern Europe, where Eximpack is a market leader, boasting a 10,000 square metre production site in St. Petersburg, and workforce of 240.

It recently expanded its production capabilities with the opening of a new gravure printing line and a Combi laminator.

Strategic Partner

“I am proud to announce Eximpack as our new strategic acquired partner," commented said Andres Lantero, president of Grupo Lantero and CEO of Emsur.

"We are going to spread our professionalism, innovative products and quality service to the Eastern Europe. This is a win-win movement where we keep growing globally as well as adding higher value into the beverages market with a great expertise in sleeves."

Andrey Smirnov, general manager of Emsur Eximpack, added that the Emsur investment will enable the company to "show the flexible packaging industry what we are capable of within the sleeves spectrum".
