Campbell Soup Names Camille Pierce As Chief Culture Officer

Campbell Soup Company has announced the appointment of Camille Pierce as its new chief culture officer and vice-president, effective 26 October.

In this newly created role, Pierce will lead Campbell’s enterprise wide inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategy, the company said.

She will work across the organisation to build a winning team and culture, and align the company’s I&D goals with business outcomes and be a member of the Campbell Leadership Team.

President and chief executive officer of Campbell, Mark Clouse, said, “We’re approaching inclusion and diversity and culture change in a comprehensive and systemic way, by making it a company-wide priority supported by an integrated plan with measurable goals and a multi-year approach.

“Camille [Pierce]’s leadership and expertise will add tremendous value to our team, and she will be critical in our ongoing progress to build an inclusive and winning culture.”

Pierce will report to Clouse and Xavier Boza, the company’s executive vice-president and chief human resources officer.

Professional Background

Most recently, she served as a senior director of global inclusion and diversity at Whirlpool Corporation.

During her tenure at Whirlpool, the company was recognised as a 'noteworthy company for diversity and inclusion' by DiversityInc.

It also appeared on multiple indices including the Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index, the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and the American Association of People with Disabilities Disability Equality Index.

In 2019, Pierce was recognised by Black Enterprise Magazine as a Top Executive in Diversity & Inclusion.

Before joining Whirlpool, Pierce spent 20 years at Procter & Gamble (P&G), where she held various marketing and human resources roles.

These include leading P&G's global leadership development academy as well as supporting various functions in North and Latin America.

She graduated in business administration from Florida A&M University and also earned an MBA in marketing.

Other Responsibilities

Pierce is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated - a private, not-for-profit organisation for the past 27 years.

The organisation provides assistance and support to people through established programmes in local communities throughout the world.

Pierce serves as the chairwoman of the Leadership Accelerator, a premier professional development programme to engage, empower, and develop the next generation of leaders in Michigan’s Great Southwest,

She is also a member of the Women’s Business Centre Advisory Council, a group comprised of business and financial professionals who are responsible for strategic guidance, technical assistance, and advocacy for the small business services at the Cornerstone Alliance.
