Lidl Introduces Free WLAN Service In Germany

Discounter Lidl has introduced LidlPlusWLAN, a free wireless LAN service, to its stores across Germany, according to a report in the trade publication rundschau.de.

The service will allow shoppers to connect to the internet in Lidl stores without relying on their mobile network or data service.

The initiative aims to support customers who are looking for ingredients or the origin of a product when shopping.

Customers are directed to a login page after connecting to the service via the WLAN settings on their smartphones.

The service is accessible once the user accepts the terms of use on the one-time login page.
