France’s Grand Frais Expands To Italy

French fresh food grocery Grand Frais has opened its first two stores in Italy, operating under the Banco Fresco banner.

Following the opening of its first store in the country, in Beinasco, near Turin, in September, without much publicity, the retailer has now opened a second store in Turin, located close to Allianz Stadium, the home of Juventus football club.

Wide Assortment

The French retailer says that the new store offers a wide assortment and high quality of fruit and vegetables, and the store format takes on the look of the covered outdoor market with a retail area of about 1,000 square metres.

Banco Fresco Torino features over 300 fruit and vegetable references, as well as specialists such as butchers, fishmongers, delicatessen, a cheese counter, a wine cellar and a rich assortment of packaged products.

Grand Frais operates more than 180 stores, mostly in France and Belgium.
