Frank And Honest Engages Students In Cup Fashion Contest

Ireland’s Musgrave Group has announced that its Frank and Honest coffee brand is working with Ulster University to launch a competition asking their fashion students to create a wearable garment using only Frank and Honest cups.

The students will create detailed drawings of wearable fashion designs from which the judges, from the Ulster University and Frank and Honest, will choose the winner. They will receive a cash prize, the chance to make their creation, and to have it exhibited at a special event.

Sustainability

The campaign aims to highlight Frank and Honest’s new compostable coffee cups, which will be available in its Centra and SuperValu stores in Ireland in September.

Cup Print and Down2Earth Materials will supply the compostable cups and create 20 new jobs in Ennis and Cork.

Musgrave had previously pledged to make 100% of SuperValu’s own brand and fresh produce packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025.

The group has already introduced the compostable and biodegradable bags in 70 of its SuperValu stores.

SuperValu recently posted a record-breaking €2.7 billion worth of sales in full-year 2017.
