Albert Heijn Appoints New Management Team

Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn has appointed a new management team, which the company says will focus on growth areas, changing customer needs and developments in food retail.

Among others, the team will consist of Nic Brassey, the group's new HR director, Arnoud van Daalen, director of digital and customers and Marco van Grinsven, director for distribution and transport.

Henk van Ham will take on the role of director of shelf life and non-food, Rob Heesen has been named director of food service and concepts, Constantijn Ninck Blok, is director of fresh, and Philip Padberg has been named director of e-commerce.

The team, which starts on May 6, will be led by Marit van Egmond, general manager of Albert Heijn.

Growth Opportunities

"This offers many opportunities for growth and with this step we are entering the next phase of our company as one Albert Heijn", van Egmond said. "We do our utmost every day to offer our customers all the ingredients for a better life. I look forward to achieving this with my new team."

Albert Heijn boasts more than 1,000 physical stores in the Netherlands and Belgium. Moreover, the group operates a comprehensive e-commerce platform, apps and food and health platforms such as Allerhande.
