Bakery Giant Aryzta Announces Management Changes

Swiss-Irish bakery firm Arzyta Group has announced the appointment of a new CEO for its Europe division, with Gregory Sklikas set to take the role at the end of May 2018.

The current chief executive of the division, Dermot Murphy, will step down, but remain in a 'mentoring and support' capacity until his departure from the firm in August.

Gregory Sklikas has worked for more than a quarter of a century in the FMCG industry, spending 14 years with Unilever and 11 years with Friesland Campina, most recently holding the role of COO, EMEA for Friesland Campina, based in The Netherlands.

As part of this role, he oversaw full profit and loss responsibility for 35 different markets and 21 factories in the region. Prior to this, he also ran South East Europe and Greece for Friesland Campina.

'Great Leadership'

Commenting, Aryzta CEO, Kevin Toland said, “Dermot has provided great leadership and support during a period of significant change and transition for the Group. I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Dermot for his invaluable contribution to Aryzta throughout his 20 years’ service, and to wish him well in his future endeavours.
