Dagrofa's FoodService Danmark Takes Over Grambogård Slaughterhouse

Danish retailer Dagrofa's foodservice business, FoodService Danmark, has announced that it has acquired the Grambogård slaughterhouse business.

In a statement, FoodService Danmark said that Tommerup-based Grambogård's strong profile and attention to quality ensures that it fits into the company's strategy quite well.

Increased Demands

"Our customers are making increasing demands on the entire value chain, from breeding to plate," commented FoodService Danmark's director, Christian Jørgensen Storinggaard. "The acquisition of Grambogård aligns with our strategy to be the preferred food partner of Denmark's professional kitchens."

In addition, the retail arm of Dagrofa will see benefits from the acquisition, with Per Thau, the chief executive of Dagrofa, saying that the retailer will be able to offer added quality meats in its Meny stores, "where we are experiencing an increased demand for products of exceptional quality, with a focus on ecology and animal welfare."
