Eye-Opening Innovations At Natural & Organic Products Europe

  • Natural & Organic Products Europe 2019 took place at ExCel London on 7 and 8 April, showcasing trendsetting innovations across the food, health, eco-living and beauty categories.

    The centrepiece of the event was the Natural & Organic Awards Europe, which this year recognised 26 eye-opening innovations, selected from more than 350 entries and voted on by delegates at the show on 7 April.

    Among the winners, Wasi Organics Rainforest Spread, which won the Best New Organic Food Product, is a wholesome blend of Brazil nuts and cacao nibs sourced from the Peruvian rainforest; Oh My Gutness Water Kefir from Captain Kombucha, which won the Best New Organic Drink Product prize, is a tasty water-kefir drink containing good gut bacteria; Best New Food Product winner It’s Alive Smoked Sriracha, from Eaten Alive, is a raw, fermented hot sauce; and Willy’s Natural Energy Drink, winner of the Best New Drink Product, combines apple cider vinegar, green tea kombucha, water, apple juice, and ginger.

    Other winners at the event include Qwrkee Foods, which won both the Best New Special Diet Product category (for its Qwrkee Pea M’lk) and Best New Snack Product for its Qwrkee Vegan Jerky; Happy White, which won the Best New Vegan Food Product for its dairy alternative, Happy Cheeze; and Bonsan, which took the Judges’ Choice award for its Bonsan Organic Teriyaki Jackfruit.

    Impressive Innovations

    ESM was in attendance at the Natural & Organic Products Expo, and we were impressed with the range of innovation on offer, as well as the marketing nous and brand sophistication of the companies present, some of which were only a few months old.

    We were particularly impressed with companies coming up with something truly unique, such as the seaweed puffs from Shore – the Scottish Seaweed Company; Yora’s pet food, devised from insects; and Snooze, a ‘natural sleep’ drink, to help with a good night’s sleep. Attendance at the event was impressive, with the floor busy right up until closing time.

    Natural & Organic Products Europe positions itself as ‘Europe's favourite natural business event’, and, based on our experience, it lives up to that claim.
