Former Starbucks Exec To Head Up Jumbo's La Place Business

Frank Wubben has been named as the new managing director for La Place, the foodservice and restaurant business operated by Dutch retailer Jumbo.

Wubben, a former EMEA Vice President for Starbucks Coffee, will be responsible for the day-to-day management, strategy, innovation and portfolio management at La Place, Jumbo said in a statement.

“With Frank we have a broadly experienced professional who has earned his spurs in both hospitality and retail," commented Jumbo CEO Frits van Eerd. "It is precisely at this interface that we see unique opportunities for the further development of Jumbo and La Place."

van Eerd described Wubben as an "innovative and creative leader" that will make an "important contribution" to the business.

Wubben succeeds Bart van den Nieuwenhof in the role, who has led La Place since its acquisition by Jumbo in 2016.
