Germany's Consumer Price Index On The Rise

Consumer prices in Germany were estimated to be 1.4% higher in May compared to the same month the previous year, according to the Statistisches Bundesamt (Federal Statistics Office).

Moreover, the consumer price index for May 2019 is expected to be around 0.2% higher than the previous month.

General Growth

According to the harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, prices were expected to be up 1.3% in May 2019, compared to the same month last year, and 0.3% higher than April 2019.

In May 2019, the inflation rate in Germany probably was estimated at 1.4%, measured by the consumer price index.

The finalised consumer price index for May 2019 will be published on June 13.
