Olive You To Showcase Unique European Table Olives At Anuga
The Panhellenic Association of Table Olives Processors, Packers and Exporters (PEMETE) and its 'Olive You European Table Olives' campaign will attend Anuga for the second time.
Olive You will showcase European table olives from Greece in the highly targeted German market, and further develop valuable and effective relationship with professionals in the food business.
It will highlight the modern profile of European table olives, inform visitors about the quality and flavour of the product, and test new commercial types of the most popular varieties of olives such as Halkidiki, Kalamata, Konservolia.
At the same time, the trained staff of the campaign will try and identify the perception and consumption habits of visitors towards this significant European product through campaign questionnaires, and gather useful information on the awareness and market trends in Germany and other EU countries.
Meet the Olive You team and experience their products in Anuga, HALL 11.2, stands E-036, E-036A, E-036B, E-038, E-038A, E-038B, E-039A from 5 to 9 October 2019.
The 3-year EU co-financed campaign aims to generate awareness and demand for European table olives from Greece in 13 countries around the globe.
These include Germany, Austria, France, UK, Poland, Sweden, USA, Canada, Russia, Australia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, UAE.
The campaign, launched in 2017, will run until February 2020 through a wide variety of activities such as advertising, events, masterclasses, in-store tastings, trade shows, press relations.
It aims to inform consumers and professionals about the unique quality and flavour of the most popular olive varieties, thereby increasing the export of table olives.
Panhellenic Association of Table Olive Processors, Packers and Exporters or PEMETE is a professional association, founded in 1970, that promotes the interests of table olive exporters.
The members of PEMETE include Greek companies that process, package, and export table olives. All companies process their end products in accordance with the existing Food Safety Regulation 852/2004.
The 52 member companies of PEMETE represent more than 90% of Greece’s exports of table olives to more than 100 countries.
These companies export some outstanding and unique Greek table olive varieties, like Konservolia - a variety mostly farmed in Central Greece, Halkidiki from Northern Greece, and Kalamata - a variety mainly but not exclusively farmed in the regions of Etoloakarnania, Laconia and Phtiotida.
Furthermore, small quantities of Throuba and Megaritiki varieties are included in their product range.
The greatest advantage of Greek table olives is that the it ripens naturally on the olive trees.
