Russia's O'Key Group To Expand Online Delivery Service

Russian retailer O'Key Group has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with SberMarket to expand its online delivery service.

As part of the agreement, SberMarket will process and deliver orders from O'Key hypermarkets.

Initially, the service will include stores located in four cities - Omsk, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, and Nizhny Novgorod.

Chief operations officer at SberMarket, Artur Sarkisov, said, “We are happy to announce our partnership with O`KEY, one of the most popular brands among Russian consumers.

"I am confident that our customers will appreciate the convenience of the service and the quality of order picking and delivery ensured by procurement experts and couriers from SberMarket.”

The Service

SberMarket will provide an e-catalogue via its website and mobile app, which will feature more than 17,000 food and non-food SKUs from O'Key.

These include ultra-fresh products, groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, confectionery, ready-to-eat meals, drinks, children's goods, and staples.

The prices of products will be the same as in the hypermarkets and discounts and promotions will also be included, the retailer added.

Other Partnerships

In the second quarter of 2020, the retailer teamed up with iGooods service to deliver foods from its hypermarkets to customers in Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Surgut, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnodar.

Chief executive officer of O'Key Group, Armin Burger, said, “One of our key priorities today is to expand omnichannel capabilities, which can only be achieved by tapping into synergies with our partners.

“Through our projects with SberMarket and iGooods, we will be able to provide even more customers with fresh and high-quality products at competitive prices in the fastest delivery time possible.”

O'Key Group added that it was one of the first retailers in Russia to introduce its own delivery service, okeydostavka.ru, in 2015.

In the second quarter of this year, the retailer ramped up its throughput capacity for this service to meet increased consumer demand.
