Sainsbury’s CEO Announces Board Changes

Sainsbury’s new chief executive officer Simon Roberts has named Clo Moriarty as the company’s retail and digital director and promoted chief marketing officer, Mark Given, to its operating board.

Most recently, Moriarty served as the chief digital director of the company.

Seamless Customer Experience

Commenting on the changes, Roberts, said, “Bringing together our retail and digital teams under Clo [Moriarty’s] leadership will create a business that shows up in the same way for customers wherever they shop with us.

“Mark’s appointment to the operating board will ensure that we understand how customers are feeling, what they’re thinking, and how this affects the way they shop.”

Experienced Professional

Moriarty is an experienced professional who has been a part of Sainsbury’s for the past 10 years.

In her new role as retail and digital director, she will be responsible for Sainsbury’s and Argos stores, the company said.

Given has been associated with Sainsbury's for more than seven years in senior marketing roles.

His responsibilities include brand and customer communications across Sainsbury's, Argos and Tu clothing, as well as customer insight, marketing strategy and planning, CRM & loyalty and digital marketing.

He is also accountable for the company’s loyalty card business, Nectar, the company added.
