'Too Good To Go' Extends Service To 240 Carrefour Stores

Carrefour Belgium has announced that around 240 stores are now a part of the 'Too Good To Go' initiative, with 84 Carrefour Hypermarkets and Carrefour Market joining the platform on 17 April.

'A Great Opportunity'

"We have identified a great opportunity to reduce unsold food while retaining our social role of systematic donation to charities, such as food banks, through the Grant Exchange," said Pascal Léglise, director corporate social responsibility, quality, and sustainable development at Carrefour Belgium.

"A large proportion of our stores were directly attracted by the concept and wanted to start it quickly. This enthusiasm encouraged us to extend the initiative to 84 Carrefour Hypermarkets and Carrefour Market."

Combating Food Waste

The 'Too Good To Go' initiative helps in combating food waste by selling unsold food items that are approaching their expiry dates through its online platform.

Customers can order surprise boxes comprising several products for a maximum value of €12 to €15 for €3.99.
