Groupe Casino Pushing Click-And-Collect In Brazil

In Brazil, Groupo Pão de Açúcar store-layouts are being reformatted to further resemble those of its French parent company, Groupe Casino.

In the final quarter of 2014, the Brazilian retailer began to install in its outlets the same click-and-collect points which are operated in Cdiscount supermarkets in France. So far 200 have been set up, but Groupo Pão de Açúcar has begun a process of rapid development, which should see 1,000 such facilities operable in the near future.

The grocer, under the partial stewardship of its French mothership, wishes to capitalise on the growing popularity of this form of shopping in the South American country.

The firm's turnover in 2014 was 72.8 billion reals (almost €22 billion).
