Italy-based Guala Closures has announced the acquisition of 70% of of the French company CapMetal, which specializes in the production and distribution of aluminium screwcaps, mainly for the French wine market.
Guala Closures completed the acquisition through its Dutch subheading Guala Closures International B.V.
CapMetal, based in the Eure-et-Loire, boasts a direct sales network covering the whole of France. It has held a non-exclusive representation contract with Guala Closures for more than ten years.
In a statement, Guala Closures said that the "transaction is part of the Guala Closures Group’s strategy to further strengthen its core business through direct control of the commercial network."
