Diageo To Launch New Guinness 'Golden Ale'

Drinks giant Diageo is further expanding its Guinness brand by adding a new ale to its stable.

Next month, the company is set to launch Guinness Golden Ale, which is brewed using Irish barley, hops, amber malt and Guinness yeast.

Guinness is aiming to tap into the interest in premium bottled and craft beers with its new drinks, which were developed at the Guinness Brewers' Project, described by Diageo as "as a small innovative brewery with a team given licence to reinterpret historic recipes and bring to life new ones".

Commenting on the news, expert brewer Peter Simpson told offlicencenews.co.uk that drinkers can enjoy "subtle biscuit flavours, a crisp bitterness and a delicate hop aroma with a refreshingly clean finish".
