Henkell Freixenet Achieves A Distinct Increase In Turnover

Drinks firm Henkell Freixenet has reported significant growth for full-year 2018, in its first set of results since Henkell acquired a controlling stake in Freixenet.

Successful Year

According to the German trade publication Rundschau, Henkell Freixenet closed the financial year 2018 with sales excluding excise taxes of €823.7 million euros (€1.03 billion including taxes).

This corresponds to an increase in sales of 56.5%.

The results encompass a full year of trading for the Henkell & Co. Group and the period August to December 2018 for Freixenet following Henkell's acquisition of 50.67% of the shares in Freixenet S.A. in July of last year.

If taken separately, Henkell & Co. Group saw turnover increase by 9.3% to €575.6 million and Freixenet saw an increase of 4.6% between August to December, to €248.1 million.

International Development

In terms of volume, Freixenet expanded its sales by 4.9% in 2018 to 95.6 million bottles, making it the most widely distributed international sparkling wine brand.

The company added that new launches such as Freixenet Prosecco, Italian Rosé and Freixenet ICE have all performed strongly.
