Hibernia Distillers Launches Hyde Irish Whiskey

Hibernia Distillers has launched its Hyde Irish Whiskey onto the Irish and international markets, as the demand for Irish whiskey continues to grow.

Hyde is a single-malt Irish whiskey, made from 100 per cent malted Irish barley and aged for ten years, named to celebrate Ireland’s first president, Douglas Hyde.

The whiskey is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, aged in flame-charred oak Bourbon barrels, and finished off in toasted Oloroso Sherry casks from Spain. It is also non-chilled filtered and cut with West Cork spring water, and then bottled with a unique number on each bottle.

One of Hyde Irish Whiskey’s key markets is set to be the United States, as the market share for spirits in America steadily grows and consumers develop more sophisticated tastes.

Alan Hyde of Hibernia Distillers explains, “American consumers have led the way in the global trend towards smaller, independent breweries and distilleries. Globally, consumers are increasingly turning towards premium, niche products that offer something different.”

“Hyde brings to the American market a taste of a very special, rare Irish whiskey that is made on a small scale, with local Irish ingredients and pure West Cork spring water,” he added.
