Spanish Retailers Lower Private Label SKU Count

A study by research firm Soysuper has found that the percentage of private label SKUs available at major Spanish supermarkets is down overall, with only Eroski and Mercadona increasing their private label count since last year.

Soysuper's research compared the size of the private label ranges that were available online at DIA, Carrefour, Auchan, Condis, El Corte Inglés and Mercadona.

It found that DIA decreased its PL range by five percentage points, Carrefour and Auchan decreased their ranges by two percentage points and Condis and El Corte Inglés decreased their ranges by 1 percentage point.

Eroski and Mercadona increased their ranges by 1 percentage point each.

Soysuper monitors the daily price of over 150,000 products online across nine supermarket groups, Mercadona, Carrefour, Auchan, Eroski, El Corte Ingles, Hipercor, Caprabo, Condis and DIA.
