IGD Convention A Sell Out

The IGD Convention, which takes place in London on October 12th, is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year for the UK grocery sector, bringing together some of the top names from across the industry for a day of debate. Reflecting the importance of such an event, this year's convention at Lancaster London is now sold out.

Speakers at this prestigious event include Justin King, Chief Executive, Sainsbury's; Joanne Denney-Finch OBE, Chief Executive IGD; Richard Brasher, Commercial & Marketing Director, Tesco; Irwin Lee, Vice President, UK & Ireland, P&G; Roger Burnley, Retail & Logistics Director, Sainsbury's; Mark Price, Managing Director, Waitrose; Rick Bendel, International Chief Marketing Officer, Asda; Dalton Philips, chief executive, Morrison's; Dave Woodward, President, UK & Ireland, Heinz, and many more besides.

The food and grocery industry faces a challenging future. It needs to find ways to stay profitable in a low growth economy and competitive in the face of global shifts. It needs to raise food output rapidly while also reducing its carbon, energy and water footprint. In short, it needs to deliver "value for values" for consumers, shareholders and society.

At this year's IGD Convetion, suggestions on how to achieve that will be centre stage. Keep track of the event on www.esmmagazine.com (11 Jul)© 2010 - ESM: European Supermarket Magazine
