Albert Heijn Rolls Out Grocery Home Delivery Service In Belgium

Albert Heijn has rolled out home delivery service for groceries ordered online or through the Albert Heijn app in Belgium.

The service will be available to around 85,000 households in ten municipalities in the Antwerp region.

The first orders will be delivered on 5 August, the retailer added.

Customers can avail of the service for orders worth €50 or more for a €5 delivery fee.

The retailer also aims to expand its store network in the country to 100 from 52.

Raf Van den Heuvel, general manager of Albert Heijn Belgium, added that the retailer will continue to open more stores in the  Flanders and cater to the needs of Flemish consumers by offering "Dutch prices, a surprising range and personal service."

In 2011, Albert Heijn opened its first Belgian store in Brasschaat in the Flanders region.
