Aryzta Announces New CEO For North America Business

Bakery giant Aryzta has announced changes to its leadership team in North America, with Tyson Yu appointed as chief executive of the division, effective 1 February.

Yu, currently the chief operations officer of Aryzta North America, has worked for the business for ten years, previously heading up its Canadian operations, as well as holding a number of strategy roles.

He replaces Dave Johnson in the role, who will take on the role of non-executive chairman of Aryzta North America.

In addition, John Heffernan, the current group chief strategy officer at Aryzta, will take on the role of president and chief commercial officer of the group's North America business.

'Improved Focus'

Commenting on the leadership changes, chief executive Kevin Toland thanked Johnson for his "leadership and contribution in refocusing our North American business in the past two years, improving our customer focus, restructuring and reorganising the region and successfully launching Project Renew".

He added that Yu has "significant experience in our business in various geographic, operational and functional roles in North America over the past decade", while Heffernan "has been deeply involved in the commercial, innovation and strategy development across the Group.

I wish them both every success in their new roles," he added.
