Campari In Exclusive Talks To Acquire Champagne Lallier

Campari Group is set to enter the champagne sector, with the acquisition of the Champagne Lallier brand.

The Milan-based spirits company has entered into exclusive negotiations with French holding company Sarl Ficoma, owned by the family of Francis Tribaut, for the acquisition of the brand.

Initially, Campari Group will acquire an 80% stake and, in the medium term, the entire share capital of Sarl Champagne Lallier and other group companies.

The transaction includes the brands, related stocks, real estate assets including owned and operated vineyards, and production facilities.

Grand Cru

Champagne Lallier is produced in Aÿ, one of the few villages classified as ‘Grand Cru’ in Champagne, a clear indication of the product’s quality. The company sold around one million champagne bottles in 2019, including nearly 700,000 bottles of Lallier.

With this acquisition, Campari Group adds a premium and historical champagne brand to its portfolio, further extending its range of premium offerings.

In addition, the company will build further critical mass in the strategic French market where it recently started to sell through its own in-market company.

The financial terms of the transaction will be announced "in the event of a desirable conclusion of negotiations".
