Cargill Names Former GE CFO Jamie Miller As New Finance Chief

Global commodities trader and food processor Cargill Ltd has named former General Electric executive Jamie Miller as its chief financial officer.

Miller was senior vice president and CFO at General Electric from November 2017 to February 2020. She joined GE in 2008, holding various leadership positions, including serving as president and chief executive officer of GE Transportation.

Miller will succeed David Dines, who has held the CFO role since 1 December 2018. Dines will retire from Cargill on 2 September, after 29 years with the company.

Miller will join Cargill on 1 June  and will serve on the company's executive team. She also serves on the board of directors at Qualcomm Inc.

Commenting on her appointment, Cargill chairman and CEO Dave MacLennan, said, “The food system is dynamic and evolving. We know that to feed a growing population in a safe, responsible and sustainable way, we need innovative leaders like Jamie [Miller] to guide our growth and maintain our strong balance sheet.

Recently, the agricultural commodities trader announced plans to expand soybean processing capacity at two large Midwest crush plants and increase efficiency at five other US facilities to meet growing demand for food and fuel.
