Chicago To Get World’s First Nutella Cafe

Ferrero USA will open the first 'Nutella Cafe' in Chicago on 31 May, reports Italian daily La Repubblica.

The initiative follows the success of the 'Nutella Corners' present in numerous Eataly sales points across the world, including the USA. The Nutella Cafe will be located on North Michigan Avenue, near the Millenium Park in downtown Chicago.

Food offerings

The concept will be that of a stop and go bar offering snacks associated with the hazelnut cream, although complete menus will also be available.

This will range from traditional offerings such as fruit and nutella fondue, ice cream or crêpes, up to specialty appetizers such as Liège waffles or tarts with fresh apple, chocolate and hazelnuts.

Some savory food options and classic beverages will also be available, in addition to hot chocolate or coffee with 'whipped cream and lush Nutella'.

Design inspiration

Even the design of the Nutella Cafe is inspired by the hazelnut cream, such as the colours of the walls, ceiling embellishments and hanging lights.

"It's designed to make you feel like you're actually walking into a jar of Nutella," Angela Baird, director of operations at BIG Retail, who consulted with Ferrero USA, told the Chicago Tribune.
