Coca-Cola Announces Leadership Changes

The Coca-Cola Company has announced the appointment of Henrique Braun as the president of its new operating unit in Latin America.

Braun is an experienced professional, who currently serves as the president of the company’s business unit in Brazil.

He joined the company in 1996 in Atlanta and held several roles of increasing responsibility in North America, Europe and Latin America.

Before leading the Brazilian unit, he was the president of the beverage giant’s business in Greater China and Korea.

Braun holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a master's degree in industrial engineering from Michigan State University, and an MBA from Georgia State University.

European Operations

Elsewhere, the president of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division, Nikos Koumettis, is to assume the role of the president of the new European operating unit.

Before this, Koumettis served as the president of Coca-Cola's Central and Eastern Europe business, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in 26 countries.

Koumettis also served as president of the company’s Central and Southern Europe business unit.

Chief Innovation Officer To Retire

The cola giant also announced that its chief innovation officer, Robert Long, is to retire on 28 Feb 2021, after a 17-year stint with the company.

Most recently, Long was responsible for accelerating the growth of the company’s consumer-centric brand portfolio through innovations in beverages, packaging, ingredients and other areas.

The company will combine its innovation and technical functions under the leadership of Nancy Quan, who will step in as the chief technical and innovation officer.

Quan joined the company in 2007 and currently oversees several functions including, among others, the company’s technical and supply chain community; strategic ingredient procurement; and flavour supply and manufacturing.
