  • Dagab Inköp & Logistik AB, a part of Axfood Group, has opted for KNAPP‘s FAST Picking solution for its distribution centre in Jönköping to make the processes at the site as economical and error-free as possible.

The Jönköping distribution centre supplies fresh food to around 600 stores and small distribution centres.

The fully-automatic concept minimises physical strain on employees, and orders are processed quickly and efficiently.

The extensive range of food items, such as dairy products, meat products and fruit and vegetables, is processed economically and without errors using KNAPP‘s space-saving solution.

By switching to fully automatic processing of standard heavy handling units, the physical burden on employees is reduced to a minimum.

At the heart of the solution is the powerful OSR Shuttle™ storage and picking system.

The articles are stored in the system until they are ready for outbound delivery.

The system offers 7,200 storage locations, in three rack line systems on 15 levels, for space-saving storage and efficient order processing.

As soon as the order data for the supply in stores are available, the KNAPP KiSoft software triggers the retrieval of the corresponding articles from the shuttle system.

KiSoft Pack Master calculates the optimal packing arrangement for store-specific assembly of the pallets, taking into account the handling unit and article master data.

Based on this calculation, the OSR Shuttle™ retrieves the articles in the optimal sequence.

The right sequence saves time and unnecessary walking for employees while clearing the pallets in the stores.

In addition, a high and stable packing density saves space in the vehicle.
