Kaufland Expands Vegan Offering With New Meat Alternatives

German retailer Kaufland has added three vegan meat products to its 'K-take it veggie' private-label brand.

The new additions include vegan versions of burger patties, meatballs, and cevapcici – a grilled minced meat sausage, which is popular in the Balkan countries.

The products, made of pea protein, are free from soy and artificial flavours, the retailer said.

Sustainable Products

Helena Gauerhof, private-label buyer at Kaufland, added, "In addition to the claim to offer our customers a large selection of vegan products, we also attach great importance to sustainability. Our three new products from K-take it veggie contain no palm oil and are developed with GMO-free ingredients."

In April of this year, the retailer plans to add a pea-based drink and coconut-based cooking cream to the 'K-take it veggie' range.
