Mars Inc. has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in the Berlin-based nutrition company, foodspring.
Foodspring will now operate as a standalone business within Mars Edge, the food giant's health and wellness division.
Founders Philipp Schrempp and Tobias Schüle will continue to lead the company from its headquarters in Berlin in Germany, Mars added.
A 'Global' Business
Mars Edge president, Jean-Christophe Flatin, commented, "I want to welcome the foodspring team to the Mars Edge family and look forward to joining forces to build a global targeted nutrition business and pioneer personalised nutrition."
Foodspring is a direct-to-consumer targeted nutrition company that offers health and nutrition products based on consumers' demands.
In June of this year, Mars signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the company.
