Nestlé has announced that the chief executive of Blue Bottle Coffee, Bryan Meehan, has joined its 'Creating Shared Value' (CSV) Council.

The council, formed in 2009, is an external advisory group that ensures the development, long-term sustainability and positive social and economic impact of the CSV business approach.

Plastic-Free Future

Commenting on Meehan's membership to the council, chief executive of Nestlé, Mark Schneider, said, "Bryan has shown how a business can act as a force for good by leading the way to a plastic-free future.

"His entrepreneurial spirit and passion to fight climate change will be a great addition to the work of the Council."

Nestle's CSV Council is chaired by Janet Voûte, and comprises eight external members who are experts in corporate social responsibility, strategy, sustainability, nutrition, water, and rural development.
