Nestlé Invests €26 Million In Russian Production Plant

Nestlé has announced that it is investing CHF 30 million (€26 million) in a new infant formula plant in Russia.

The plant will be part of the company's existing Vologda facility, where it has operated for 14 years.

Nestlé says that it will strengthen its position in the Russian infant formula market, and support its exports to neighbouring countries.

The factory is expected to be operational by 2019.

Continued Investment

Nestlé says that this investment is in line with the company's strategy to focus capital spending on high-growth food and beverage categories such as coffee, pet care, infant nutrition, and bottled water.

Earlier this month, the company announced that it was opening a new pet food factory in Georgia, USA.

In the last 20 years, Nestlé Russia has invested around CHF 2 billion into the development of local production, and now operates eight factories in Russia.
