Tegut Launches New Store Concept In Fulda

German retailer Tegut has launched a new store concept 'tegut... QUARTIER' aimed at consumers looking for a quick pitstop with ready meals and snacks.

The retailer hopes to offer everything customers need for a quick break in this store in Bahnhofstraße in Fulda.

The new store is the prototype of this new concept, which the retailer will gradually add to existing supermarkets in high-frequency locations throughout the Tegut distribution area.

Product Range

Customers can avail of sliced fruits, vegetable snacks with matching dips, snack bowls, as well as freshly prepared juices, smoothies, and meal trays prepared in the oven or the microwave in this store with a retail space of over 340 square metres.

Also available are fresh paninis, complete salad bowls, quiches, and lunch dishes that change every day, along with a wide range of desserts and cakes.

Thomas Stäb, head of sales for convenience stores at Tegut, believes the new concept "provides people with fresh, trendy dishes and snacks that they can enjoy directly or with a short preparation time, warm or cold, at home, in the office or directly on-site - as a little break from the busy everyday life and a valuable source of energy or a kick of freshness."

Other Facilities

Customers can charge their smartphone or tablet into the USB sockets while in-store and access the internet thanks to the specially set up customer WLAN.

Charging and surfing are free, as well as tap water, which customers can refill without limit.

Stäb said the group attaches "great importance to the fact that customers feel comfortable during their stay at tegut ... QUARTIER and therefore [the store] not only ensures a pleasant shopping atmosphere but also offers a number of service incentives to keep customers to linger."

It also offers a self-scanning app, which utilises electronic shelf labels.
