Yıldız Names New Chief Strategy And Business Development Officer

Turkish biscuit maker Yıldız Holding has named Melih Yalçın as its new chief strategy and business development officer.

In his new role, Yalçın will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic transformation and exploring new business opportunities and sustainable growth-focused investments of the group.

He will also manage organic and inorganic expansion and portfolio diversity processes to add value to Yıldız Holding, the company added.

An Experienced Professional

Yalçın has 19 years’ worth of experience in business and strategy development roles in companies operating in various industries, both in Turkey and abroad.

Most recently, he served as the consultancy services managing director and executive board member of Türkiye Sınai Kalkınma Bankası and vice-president of Escarus Sustainability Consultancy company.

He started his career in London an analyst at Bretton Woods, the auditor of the World Bank.

He then joined Doğan Holding as a corporate strategy and business development associate.

In the following years, Yalçın held various roles in business development and corporate strategy, including that of strategy and M&A manager at Cantor Fitzgerald BGC Investment Bank.

He also served as the managing partner responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, and international business development at Strategy Loop.

Commenting on his appointment, Yıldız Holding CEO Mehmet Tütüncü said, “As a global Turkish company operating in many countries and industries, Yıldız Holding has been implementing a successful business model for many years. Our valuable teammates are the main driving force behind this success.

Yalçın graduated from Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Turkey and earned his master’s degree in development management and political economy from the London School of Economics.
